Brief History

Instituto Ling is a nonprofit organization created in 1995, in Porto Alegre, Brazil, by the Ling family, major shareholder of Évora S/A. Its mission is to contribute to turn Brazil into a more fair and progressive society, based on the values of meritocracy, freedom and reciprocity. It invests in the fields of education, culture and health.

Through scholarships to the top universities throughout the globe, Instituto Ling helps young leaders to develop their intellectual and entrepreneurial potential. In 24 years, it has provided more than US$ 7.5 million in scholarships, through 10 different programs, most of them for post-degree programs abroad - master and specialization. Its Cultural Center, opened in October 2014 in Porto Alegre, state of Rio Grande do Sul, Instituto Ling provides a place that promotes social interaction, whilst offering multiple activities, such as courses, musical and theatrical presentations and art exhibitions.

The investments in health began in 2015, when Instituto Ling established a partnership with Hospital Moinhos de Vento to implement a state-of-the-art cancer treatment center in Porto Alegre. Since 2005, Instituto Ling holds the certification of Federal Public Utility organization and it is annually audited by KPMG.
